Welcome to My ELVIS World.
This week is my debut broadcast and I will be talking about my own heartfelt journey through ELVIS world, as I share my tribute music and recite poetry that I have dedicated to ELVIS and read excerpts from my novel AROUND ELVIS. I will also talk about the current state of affairs at Graceland and the loss of Director of Fan Relations Patsy Andersen after 22 years. I’ll also discuss how I have lost ELVIS the deeper I have gotten into ELVIS WORLD and of how I have experienced some tremendous moments as a fan and fan club president.
PREMISE
Each week I shall challenge myself to find unique perspectives and rare formats and use them to reveal another aspect of his persona, being, and artistry to the world. I cannot invent the wheel, but I can make this show uniquely entertaining. I want to share this show with the fans, I want to play tribute music to ELVIS (but no impersonator covers of ELVIS songs) have poetry recitations and authors read excerpts from their books and when I do interviews with those from ELVIS’ inner circle and fringe, I will find interesting new topics to discuss. As ELVIS noted, the term SHOW BUSINESS is made up of two words, not one. I have to have sponsors in order to do this show and I must maintain artistic integrity to invite listeners back, so I have resolved to only bring this audience commercial spots that are important to ELVIS fans and will therefore add to the chemistry of the show. I network with businesses to give my fan club members discounts on services and products when they come to Memphis or go to Tupelo or New Orleans, or Las Vegas. We also have online services around the world and we’re adding more businesses all the time.
